Front gardens
I have to admit I am a little homesick today. So Sage and I went for an evening walk to look at front gardens here in the NE. Love. I think I want to make a little PDX garden at home, so I'll be throwing in some garden shots. Not sure whether it helped homesickness, but it helped me appreciate where I am right now.

Finn blogs
Today we are going to Powell's bookstore. I am trying to think of a book that I want. When we go I might just end up looking around or I might find one I like. And yesterday we went to the Avengers. It was very cool. There were new Avengers like Hawkeye. The Black Panther wasn't in the other Avengers - but he was in the comic and cartoon.
Right now I am doing pom poms. Yesterday Mei Mei bought them for me. At this very second right now I am making them. I am getting good everytime I get done with one. We are tying a bunch of them onto a string so that at Christmas we can put them on our tree. It was the same place Twisted that we went to and I got some cross stitch. I got the color red for the cross stitch. For my Pom poms I got the color blue.

Yesterday was another really warm day - around 88 degrees. I'm told that this is very unseasonal. It is usually around 68 degrees. Nan, Sage and I walked up to a yarn shop yesterday while Heather, Conn and Finn went to see The Avengers. This is the nicest yarn shop. Nan picked out some yarn for her birthday. I bought a pom pom maker and some yarn for us to make a garland. I'm sure we will be posting pictures soon.
Maggie and Bruce, if you are reading this, I cannot thank you enough for letting us use your condo. I love it. It is so cute and welcoming. The only thing missing is the two of you!
I am running the Nosewarts School for Gifted Children. Connor is working on Math and a report on Ben Franklin. Finn is working on a report on Teddy Roosevelt. Sage is working on his colors. We're practicing "blue". He says "Mom" very clearly now.
After school, we're off to Powell's Bookstore.
To Linda Gudding: I saw your post on your daughter-in-law. I hope all goes well and you have a new grandchild to hold at this point.
To Mom: I am looking forward to seeing you soon, sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee and telling you all about the trip.

No Pity
However (and perhaps even better) their minor league Team is playing one today!
(even better because there will be less people and it will be way cheaper)
Heath and I are taking Connor and Finn to the pitch this afternoon. This is always a good time and I want to get the boys amped for returning to see Le Rouge (Detroit's brand spanking new football club!)
Maggie, Bruce and Heathy got us season tix (seriously - how spoiled are we????!!!) And we plan on representing hard core.
Connor woke up talking about the keeper and the pitch and using all of his new football (ahem, soccer) terms. The Timbers experience is really quite grand. I am pretty stoked to share it with Connor and Finn.

Grant park
We went to a park that has a sprinkler thing. It seems it is too early in the year for the water- darn ... As it is 87 here. And a lovely87 it is. Conn a s Finn are seeing the avengers with Auntie Heather right now. I am having a beer and chillin. Blogging on my phone while sage is nursing.
Lucky
Woke up very early today (with the help of Sage). Sage went back to sleep and I decided to have some alone time and re-center. I was getting a wee bit crabby last night. Sage has been sleeping poorly (expected) and it is slowly chipping away at my vacation mood.
I made some coffee and have been working on the huge fish puzzle for an hour when finally the euphoria started to creep back in.
We are so lucky. Let us count the ways...
1. So lucky that Maggie and Bruce let us stay here. This condo is awesome. The beds are super comfy, it is close to walk to tons of stuff, it smells great...
sigh.
2. Portland is really nice. I am so thankful to my Mom for working extra classes so that we could do this (I am totally paying you back, Mom - Hawaii in about 5 years!)
3. I had a job that I could double up on hours for the last couple weeks to take these weeks off.
4. The boys are at a perfect age (well the big boys) for exploring and learning and remembering a trip like this. They have been so much fun.
5. I get to spend some amazing chill time with Heather, and while I never fret about our friendship - it is very nice to put some time in the bank.
...And the bonuses keep on coming! the weather is oooh la la. We managed to sneak in Team Davidson Time!
You know what? Let's gp back to how great it smells here. It smells really great. The windows are open and the Rhododendrons, Lilacs and Hydrangeas are in in bloom. Everything is super green and fresh. It smells a little like a greenhouse.
Ahhh, and now I can hear my wee one crabbing in the other room.
